Board Feature: Professional Development

As chair of professional development I work with both YEP members and business leaders in our community. My primary responsibility is to coordinate guest speakers for YEP membership events. I also have the opportunity to plan special events for our members, such as the Etiquette dinner at the Williamsburg Inn. The biggest challenge for my position is finding new opportunities that appeal to all “Yeppies”, across our many professions and personal interests.

YEP competes in Heart Chase

On Saturday, November 8, YEP put together a team of 5 members to compete in the American Heart Association Heart Chase fundraiser. Our team competed in a variety of activities in a race around New Town (think Amazing Race-style challenges).

Williamsburg Craft Beer Festival Donates to Local Charities

For its first year, Williamsburg Craft Beer Festival raised more than $11,000 for nonprofits serving the local community. In April the Rotary Club of Williamsburg and the Young Emerging Professionals of Williamsburg teamed up for a day of craft beer in the city’s downtown area. The event was sold out, and the committee organizing it plans to announce a date for 2015 in the fall.
