As social director for YEP I have the exciting and fun job of planning the social events for all Yeppies and potential new members. By collaborating with members of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, I am able to create monthly social events to gather people together to network. As social director, I also plan the annual holiday party and create invitations to be sent out to all YEP members. The social director is a wonderful position for someone who enjoys planning events and meeting new people.
Being a treasurer has been rewarding because it allows me to stay involved with many YEP projects and events being planned and executed. Besides working closely with the YEP Executive Committee, I’ve had the opportunity to assist the organization in maintaining relationships with many other local organizations and vendors we partner with. There aren’t too many challenges with being a Treasurer, but it definitely requires organization skills when maintaining financial records and assets. The experience is totally worth the responsibility, though!
Being the Membership Director is all about connecting young professionals in the Williamsburg area and introducing them to what YEP is all about. I have the responsibility of reaching out personally to new and prospective members and maintaining the membership databases. It’s fun to collaborate with the rest of the Executive Committee on ways to attract and retain members as our organization continues to grow and gain recognition in the community. Membership Coordinator is a fun and rewarding position on the Executive Committee for an organized person who enjoys meeting new people and collaborating within a team.
